Dr. Brenda Specht earned her DVM from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998.  She has practiced in many different areas & on multiple species, including horses & alpacas. Now focusing on cats & dogs, she especially enjoys helping you develop & maintain strong, mutually rewarding bonds with your companion animals.  Maintaining dental health, addressing behavioral concerns, and helping you manage your pet's medical issues are frequent topics of Dr. Specht's conversations. Having worked in several practices, she chose Red Bank Veterinary Hospital because of the high standard of care & quality of the team she experienced when providing relief services there.

Dr. Specht is a Cincinnati native, growing up in Milford & now settled in Batavia on the east side.  She and her husband, David, & two daughters, Becca & MacKenzie, share their home with two cats, Cuda & Tuffy, and an elderly Australian Shepherd named Friday.  They also claim four horses at Grassy Acres Horse Retreat, where Dr. Specht's mother operates a horse boarding stable ad helps Dr. Specht rehabilitate starved & neglected horses for the Clermont County Humane Society.

Dr. Specht  is the Veterinary Advisor for the Clermont County Humane Society and a member of the Clermont Catholic Community parishes, usually attending St. Louis or St. Ann's. She is often found in the Golden Spurs 4-H Club area of the horse barns at the Clermont County Fair, helping her girls show the horses.  She is also a unit leader for American Heritage Girls Troop 0998 in Anderson, where Becca & MacKenzie are Pioneer & Tenderheart, respectively.  Dr. Specht enjoys trail riding, camping, canoeing, & reading fantasy & political intrigue in her spare time.
